Jordan Romero, 15, called his mother Leigh Ann Drake on Saturday to confirm that it had achieved its goal of reaching the summit of Mt. Vinson Massif in Antarctica.
Calif. Teen Becomes Youngest Person To Climb 7 peak Of Mountains..The Big Bear, California native beat the record previously owned by British climber George Atkinson, who finished the climb to 16 in May.
Romero's team began the climb on Wednesday. Romero's Face book page, "Find Your Everest" marked to reach the top but the climb is hardly over.
"It's in the books. The top kid and the team with all fingers and toes. Descent yet to come as we celebrate, "a position at the Face book page read.
Romero completed the ride with his father and stepmother.
"This is my dream that we follow the highest point on every continent," said Jordan on his blog. "I know it's a big goal and lucky for me that my family supports me every step of the way."
At age 10, climbed Mt Kilimanjaro Romero in Africa, and at 13 he climbed the highest mountain in the world at 29,035 feet, Mt.Everest in Asia.
Drake declined to comment further, saying the family is not seeking attention for the realization of the boy.
