White has won seven Emmy Awards (six for acting) and has received 20 Emmy nominations over the course of her career, including being the first woman ever to receive an Emmy for game show hosting (for the short-lived Just Men!) and is the only person to have an Emmy in all female performing comedic categories. In May 2010, White became the oldest person to guest-host Saturday Night Live, for which she also received a Primetime Emmy Award. The television legend celebrates his 90th birthday on Tuesday, January 17 - and, earlier this month, White and his illustrious career were feted at a party taped and broadcast by NBC on Monday, "a tribute to Golden Girl America ".
The shrill, starry night took a turn with the emergence of emotional Mary Tyler Moore, whose eponymous sitcom 1970 helped solidify the reputation of White (playing malicious voracious sexual TV homemaker Sue Ann Nivens). Moore, 75, underwent brain surgery last fall to remove a benign tumor and a bit brittle star received a standing ovation.
Most of the night, however, excavation provided a good character after another in white, who laughed in his seat.
