Things to remember that the city is re-updated with snow Thursday - perhaps as much as eight inches and just in time harassing travelers at night.
"It will be a shock to the system," National Weather Service said Ed Fenelon. "We have been experiencing the typical time in November or March. This is now going to be a hit in January time."
The snow begins as more of an annoying poke Thursday morning. The blow comes on late at night, said Fenelon. Mother Nature is expected to toss in the wind gusts reach 35 mph during the evening.
The snow should fall on Thursday night, but the cold will stay sharp for the weekend, forecasters say, with low temperatures hovering near single digits.
If you're afraid of the snow, remember, at this point in the season, the city has been generally about 13 inches of snow. As of Tuesday, we had only 1.9 inches in the Chicago area, said Fenelon. Through Thursday, this would be one of the snow seasons, at least in history, said Fenelon.
